Headed out of the mountains around midday due the the big storm coming. Was interesting seeing all the preparations being made - already gritting and spraying the roads, getting signs ready and positioning the snow plows. The weather certainly felt unstable as I left.
Stopped in at Capels Lake for a(nother) last skate. The wind had smoothed out the ice and was good skating. Had a chat to a couple who knew the area and they said skating there was a rare thing there because of the amount of snow they usually get.Drove out through Jackson (CA) - a pretty historic mining town - very different from anything else I have seen so far in the US.
Gradually meandered my way to stay within an hour and a half of San Fransisco ready to meet the others tomorrow.
